Common questions

How do I become a health physics monitor?

Entry usually needs a science-based Level 3 qualification or equivalent site experience; employers then train you through their own radiological monitoring scheme. It is one of the most reliable entry routes into licensed nuclear site work in West Cumbria.

What does an RPA role require?

RPA certification under the Ionising Radiations Regulations, normally alongside a physics or radiation-related degree and several years of applied radiological experience. RPS roles are site appointments requiring less formal certification but strong operational competence.

Is shift work involved?

Many monitoring roles run shift or on-call patterns to cover continuous operations, with allowances on top of base salary.
